Colonel Monaco with Patriot Outreach

'Patriot Outreach' mission is to reduce
the suicide rate of our Military & Vets.
Please visit the Patriot Outreach Web Site and take a look at their free
"Coping Strategies" CD for Warriors & Family Members.
According to a Veterans Administration
Web Site, 18 Vets commit suicide
every day! The repeated tours
of Combat increases the # of PTSD
causing more suicides.

Pictured from last January, is PJ Scott & Jack Yusen, WWII Sailor.
Veterans Forum was extremely pleased to have WWII, "USS Samuel B Roberts" Sailor, Jack Yusen, as a guest! Audiences may of viewed Jack on the History Channel; "WWII-HD," the previous month. The Samuel B Roberts (DE-413) was named after a sailor, who lost his life while evacuating Marines from the Battle of Guadalcanal in 1942. Commissioned in April 44 the 'Sammy B' as she was affectionally called, sank during the Battle of Leyte Gulf off the Philippines Island of Samar. The Roberts quickly became known as 'The Destroyer that Fought Like a Battleship' as she was out gunned by the Japanese, but kept fighting valiantly above & beyond the call of duty! Jack & many of his Shipmates found themselves in the water after heavy fighting & many casualties on 25OCT44, as the 'Roberts'went down. For three & half days Yusen & his surviving shipmates tried to stay afloat & fend off sharks before being rescued!
Jack was a great guest & Veterans Forum received many compliments for this exciting WWII story!
